How?

Procedures for Application:
Applicants must complete a grant application requesting funds, including the signature of their respective program/division Budget Administrator. See Grant Application.

Applicants must submit their approved application to the Foundation office prior to the designated application deadline for the granting period. Applications received after the deadline will be considered in the next granting period.

A committee, consisting of at least three members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors as well as the Executive Director of the Olympic College Foundation (or designee), will review each application and select the proposals to be funded. The Committee will meet and determine awards no later than the last day of the month in which the applications are due. In the course of its consideration, the committee may ask applicants to explain or clarify aspects of their proposals. The committee will also consider the quality of the proposal in its decision.

The committee will report the awards to the Foundation’s full Board of Directors and the Olympic College community at large.

All successful applicants must provide the Foundation with appropriate documentation of how the funds were used as well as a written evaluation of the funded project upon completion.

When reapplying to sustain and/or repeat a project, applicants should include information on how previous Funds for Excellence grant(s) benefited their program. Only those projects with completed written evaluation(s) will be considered for repeat funding.

Funds for Excellence awards are determined quarterly and take into consideration the other submitted requests for the same granting period, as well as funds available. The Funds for Excellence program should not be considered an ongoing source of program support.
